Aulani ~ Day 5.1

Wow, waking up in this place every day, just so amazing! A person could really get used to this. The weather has been perfect, the sun has been shining. Everything is green, the tropical flowers just brighten your day. I can understand why people live on this island, sans the expenses involved.

Today started like our previous, with Dale up before me. We had enough left overs that we had a nice breakfast in the room before we decided to head to the beach today. There were tons of chairs available on the beach. Aulani has a manmade lagoon, so the water is very calm at the beach. It’s was a tad chilly, but not bad. It was so clear.

We spent a nice amount of time down on the beach, then we decided to take a walk up to the lazy river. There is something just so relaxing about floating along in the warm water without a care in the world. As I mentioned it’s so green here and the flowers are beautiful. We stopped to see Stitch along the way, where a lot of people had left their lei’s this morning. And we saw this cute little gecko along the way.

My friend Rachel was coming to have lunch with me, so we knew it was time to head up to get cleaned up and dressed. Rachel and I worked together as labor & delivery nurses and she moved away from Delaware, then married an amazing man and the Navy took them to Hawaii. I was so excited to find out she was really close to Aulani and we started planning our visit months ahead.

While I waited for Rachel to arrive, I enjoyed the lobby and took in some of the beauty right there that we walked so quickly by when we checked in with all the excitement of checking into our room.

We decided to eat lunch along the pool as there is a ‘special’ pool menu that is slightly different than the regular menu when eating at Off The Hook. I was eyeing the shrimp tacos and they were amazing. We sat and chatted and ate and drank! After we finished I brought Rachel up to see our amazing room and to meet Dale. We then did a little shopping before it was time to say bye. It was such a nice relaxing day.

Next up, the amazing Luau at Aulani this evening.
