After a short walk across the street to check things out, we decided it was time to check out this Lazy River. There are small cubicles to store your belongings while you float away and enjoy the day. I got Dale a waterproof pouch for his phone so he didn't have to leave it in the cubicle (not that anyone touched out stuff) and if he wanted he could take photos. I got a waterproof case for my phone and just kept it in that the entire trip. I missed the thing I have on the back of my phone for doing selfies but got the hang of this after a few days.
We did a several laps around the lazy river. Having read lots about Aulani before going, I was prepared for the people that were walking through the lazy river instead of floating as there were not enough inner tubes for everyone. People really didn't bother others and most kids were just playing along the way, but every once in a while you'd realize that someone just swam under you, lol. After we had done a few trips around the river, we decided to go check out the pools.
In reading about Aulani we also read it can be very difficult to get a chair by the pool unless you go down early in the morning and that you cannot leave your stuff on the chair and disappear for hours as they monitor the chairs. Well, we walked around looking for a bit, and honestly, it is hard to find a chair in the afternoon. It was a little after 1pm and every chair had a body or belongings on it. We finally found a single chair by the infinite pool so we put our belongings there and ventured into the water. This pool was amazing because it looked right out over the beach.
We enjoyed some time in the sun, decided to venture up to the Ulu Cafe and grab some lunch. Dale got the pepperoni and sausage flatbread while I had the chicken tenders. The servings were huge and needless to say we didn't finish either. More left overs for the fridge. We enjoyed our afternoon at the pool and soon were heading back to the room to get ready for our photo shoot at the Secret Beach right next to Aulani.
